When I was asked to trial a range of Maid Simple products I jumped at the chance. After all, who doesn't love free stuff?! I'm neither a professional blogger, nor a professional cleaner… but I do love to keep the family home clean and tidy for my own sanity. Especially with a new baby! (Amber)
On receipt of the products my first impression was how great the branding looks. The 1950's twist is genius given the 50's revival we’re currently experiencing. The bottles are the same size as other high street cleaning brands and even getting them out of the box and onto the worktop, they looked great collectively and individually! We are unfortunate not to have a lot of storage space in the new build, but I would be happy to leave these products on show.
The first product I thought I would try is the Maid Simple Lovely Bubbly Washing Up liquid, and the first thing I noticed was the smell….. Lemoncello…..Yummy! And a fun twist on the more standard (lemon) fragrance name. It’s fresh, fruity, super bubbly and cleaned the dishes in no time. Being a fan of the Italian tipple it also offered up some great memories too! The plates were sparkling and it left no residue, so no need to do an extra rinse under tap. Saving water and pennies!
Next up was the Maid Simple Bug Bashing Anti-Bacterial Cleaner, and having just taken baby Amber out of her high chair it was the perfect opportunity for cleaning up the mess and putting it to the test. It smells great, was smear free and left the highchair squeaky clean. The style of these bottles makes it quick, easy and simple to use.
Just spray and wipe! Less time clearing up mess and more time to spend with the baby!
Out of all the products, I was mostly looking forward to trying the Maid Simple Let it Shine Glass & Mirror Cleaner. The mirrors and patio doors in our house are notorious for gathering mucky prints when Amber’s cousins come for play dates, so I was pleasantly surprised at just how good it was at removing even the stickiest of marks. Spray, wipe and let it dry (which is pretty much instant)! It’s that easy.
Although I must admit…. the glass doors do need a bit more elbow grease to remove the marks, but all in all I'm super chuffed at finding a product that works! Now we can see through the glass, I just need to get my husband to mow the lawn!
Last but not least was the Maid Simple Done & Dusted Furniture Polish, and oh my gosh, this smells great! Reminded me a little of Christmas with the cinnamon and vanilla mix, which was refreshing given that my current furniture polish smells the same as the fly spray!
This polish does exactly what it says on the bottle – it’s easy to use, wax free, buffs up the wood perfectly and feels smooth on the cloth.
It also says it reduces dust build up, but we’ll have to see about that in the next day or so! :0)
All in all, I'm really pleased I've been introduced to such great products and I had so much fun using them (as you can see from the photos). The Glass & Mirror cleaner is by far my favourite with the Anti-Bacterial cleaner a close second, and I'm keen to try out the rest of the range as soon as I can!
Until next time! :0)
